Even though the magical system contains some familiar echoes of the Pokemon world (the summoning mechanism and the mana stuff), the overall result was quite original and really interesting.
The world building was solid. The whole concept felt very original to me, especially because it included races like the elves, dwarfs and orc, something that isn't really common in the YA High Fantasy genre. The medieval-ish world is rich with cultural background, something I always love to read about.
You enter this new world and you get a vibe of other books and stories you’ve read but it manages to stand out on his own. I’m looking forward to explore this universe in more books.

I am not disappointed by this, despite the fact that it did take quite a while to really make some progress on it. It kind of felt slow sometimes, because every single thing was mentioned, but also because it leaned more towards middle grade for me.
